Over the course of the day you will review the history of Scoliosis, its incidence and development and how it is now one of the most prevalent issues facing Physiotherapists and Pilates teachers alike. The difference between congenital and idiopathic scoliosis will be discussed, along with the mix between C-curve and S-curve deformities of the spine and their differing challenges. Following this, you will be guided through the APPI’s step by step program of how to deliver a successful in studio scoliosis session, as well as a specific home exercise program.
Presenter Sindy Rollins for Unite Health and APPI Australia is a presenter for the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) and incorporates their modified therapeutic approach to exercise into her practice as a MSK physiotherapist, and teches 1:1, group and class Pilates.
Sindy has a strong background in rehabilitation, through her work with the British Military, and now works in her private practice at leederville physiotherapy clinic, Perth, WA, where she has developed an interest in shoulder and pelvic dysfunction.
Sindy is a UK trained physiotherapist, with a BSC. Hones in Physiotherapy and a PGDip in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy. She is also a member of the musculoskeletal association of chartered physiotherapits (MACP).
